In order to improve a coupling, in particular for machine tools driven by a motor, which can be released when a predetermined triggering torque occurs, comprising a rotatable coupling element with at least one first locking element and an additional rotatable coupling element with at least one second locking element and an elastic force storing means, such that this no longer "chatters" it is suggested that the coupling have a holding element, that the holding element be movable from an inactive position into an active position once the triggering torque has occurred, that the holding element in the active position prevent any transition of the locking elements from the inoperative position into the operative position in every coupling rotary position, this transition being triggered by the action of the elastic force storing means, and that the holding element in the inactive position allow a transition of the locking elements from the inoperative position into the operative position in every coupling rotary position, this transition being triggered by the elastic force storing means.
