The invention relates to a coupling device (3) for connecting a heavy vehicle (1) and a towed unit (2) which, in the working position, are arranged on a ground forming a horizontal plane, said device (3) allowing the relative pitch movement between the towed unit (2) and the heavy vehicle (1). According to the invention, the distance (4) between the instantaneous centre of rotation (5) of the relative pitch movement of the towed unit (2) with respect to the heavy vehicle (1) and the orthogonal projection of said instantaneous centre of rotation (5) onto said horizontal plane is less than 1/9 of the outside diameter of the largest mounted assembly of the heavy vehicle and/or less than 25 centimetres. The invention also provides a method of towing a unit by a heavy vehicle.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de liaison (3) entre un véhicule lourd (1) et un engin tracté (2) disposés en position de travail sur un sol formant un plan horizontal, ledit dispositif (3) autorisant le mouvement de tangage relatif entre l'engin tracté(2) et le véhicule lourd(1). Selon l'invention, la distance (4) entre le centre instantané de rotation (5) du mouvement de tangage relatif de l'engin tracté (2) par rapport au véhicule lourd. (1) et la projection orthogonale dudit centre instantané de rotation (5) sur ledit plan horizontal est inférieure à 1/9 du diamètre extérieur du plus grand ensemble monté du véhicule lourd et/ou à 25 centimètres. L'invention propose encore un procédé de traction d'un engin par un véhicule lourd.
