A coupling half for interconnecting fire hose or other hose to a reciprocal connection mounted on another hose or on a fixed object. The coupling half includes two slots (14, 42) which enable the manufacturing of the coupling half quickly, efficiently, and inexpensively. Only two molds (33, 34) are used to cast the coupling half compared with the traditional three molds. The molds (33, 34) are in contact with each other at three radial points with each radial point being separated by the mold cavity. Machining is greatly reduced as the coupling half is made from one piece as compared with the traditional two pieces. The slots (14, 42) in the locking collar enable the coupling half to be made of one piece resulting in less machining.

L'invention concerne une moitié de couplage destinée à interconnecter un tuyau d'incendie ou un autre tuyau à une connexion réciproque montée sur un autre tuyau ou sur un objet fixe. La moitié de couplage comprend deux fentes (14, 42) permettant la fabrication de la moitié de couplage de façon rapide, efficace et peu coûteuse. Seuls deux moules (33, 34) sont utilisés pour couler la moitié de couplage comparés aux trois moules classiques. Les moules (33, 34) sont en contact mutuel en trois points radiaux, chaque point radial étant séparé par la cavité du moule.
