ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel enzyme conjugates useful in immunoassay methods are prepared with the use of a novel coupling reagent of N- succinimidyl (4-iodoacetyl) aminobenzoate by reacting the coupling reagent, firstly, with an amino-containing macro- molecule, and, thereafter, with a sulfhydryl-containing enzyme, the enzyme conjugate prepared in a high yield and of high specificity.
