The invention consists in a cover for a chimney, the cover comprising: a housing adapted to surround at least an upper end of a chimney, the housing having an expansion area for receiving emissions from the upper end of the chimney; a dif-fuser for diffusing the emissions from the upper end of the chimney into the expansion area; at least one air inlet for introducing air into the expansion chamber; at least one outlet for enabling air or emissions to be exhausted from the expansion chamber; wherein the housing is adapted such that emissions exiting the upper end of the chimney are diffused and expanded into the ex-pansion chamber and a reduced pressure is created within the housing for drawing emissions from the upper end of the chimney into the expansion chamber.

L'invention consiste en un chapeau destiné à une cheminée, le chapeau comprenant : un carter apte à entourer au moins l'extrémité supérieure d'une cheminée, le carter ayant une zone d'expansion destinée à recevoir les émissions provenant de l'extrémité supérieure de la cheminée; un diffuseur destiné à diffuser les émissions de l'extrémité supérieure de la cheminée dans la zone d'expansion; au moins une entrée d'air destinée à introduire de l'air dans la chambre d'expansion; au moins une sortie permettant à l'air ou aux émissions d'être évacuées dans la chambre d'expansion; le carter étant conçu de telle sorte que les émissions sortant de l'extrémité supérieure de la cheminée sont diffusées et détendues dans la chambre d'expansion et qu'une pression réduite est créée à l'intérieur du carter pour aspirer les émissions de l'extrémité supérieure de la cheminée dans la chambre d'expansion.
