A cover for a spare wheel arranged externally at the rear of a motor vehicle has a clamping strap which covers the entire tread of the tire. In its lateral edge regions, the clamping strap is drawn in towards the center of the wheel. A round plate covers the free side of the wheel. Over the peripheral edge region of the plate, the drawn-in edge region of the clamping strap engages. In order to make such a cover easy to mount for a single person and to permit it to be used simultaneously for different tire widths, there is provided an outer, annular region of the plate bent to extend towards the spare wheel. A support body can be inserted into a vehicle-side receptacle as far as a stop. The support body is attached to the center of the rear of the plate. The length of the support body is dimensioned such that, when tightening the clamping strap, the plate, acting so to speak as a disc spring, presses the support body against its stop.
L'objet de la présente invention est une housse pour roue de secours montée sur un porte-roue de secours extérieur fixé à l'arrière d'un véhicule automobile, la housse en question comportant une courroie de serrage qui recouvre toute la bande de roulement du pneu. La partie latérale de la courroie de serrage forme un rebord qui est ramené vers le centre de la roue. Une plaque circulaire couvre la face dégagée de la roue. Le rebord rentrant de la courroie de serrage vient s'accrocher à la région périphérique de la plaque circulaire. La région annulaire de la plaque circulaire est dotée d'un rebord replié vers l'extérieur et pouvant être ramené en direction de la roue de secours afin d'accommoder des roues de secours de diamètres différents et permettre à une personne seule d'effectuer le montage de la roue de secours. Un support avec butoir peut être adapté à un logement latéral du véhicule automobile. Le support est fixé au centre de la face arrière de la plaque. La longueur donnée au support est prévue pour que le serrage de la courroie produise une déformation de la plaque circulaire qui, agissant tel un ressort, maintient fermement le support contre la butée.
