ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention pertains to a device for pro- viding a means of bridging a space between adjacent objects such as between an appliance such as a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher or the like, and a furniture piece such as a counter, sink, cabinet or another appliance. The object of this invention is to form a continuous seal between said objects and prevent dirt, wastes, food, fumes, cutlery and debris from entering the space described above. The device may in certain aspects be characterized by a linear flat horizontal bridging strip adapted to extend from one piece of furniture or appliance to Another piece of furniture or appli- ance or wall, or the like, and fill a linear gap therebetween, with a first edge of said strip pressing against the first piece of furniture or appliance. A linear flat horizontal bridging strip extends across the gap and comes to rest on the surface of another piece of furniture or appliance. In one embodiment, the linear flat horizontal bridging stip may include a flexible portion adapted to lay against the side wall of the second piece of furniture or appliance. In certain embodiments, at least one flat spring or magnet is connected to a downwardly depending stabilizing strip to urge the bridging strip into close linear contact with the first piece of furniture or appliance.
