ABSTRACT A novel cover to protect mattresses and other padded surfaces from damage due to moisture arising from incontinence is provided. The preferred cover is in the form of a laminate and comprises three layers, namely an upper foam layer, a middle moisture-impermeable layer and a lower foam layer which overlies the surface to be protected. When in use the moisture-impermeable layer prevents moisture contacting the upper foam layer from passing through the cover and contacting the surface to be protected.
