F.N. 44791 CAN 8A ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A kit for covering a spliced cable includes a roll 36 mastic 24, a roll 40 of perforated material 26 and a prestretched elastic sleeve 28 on a removable core 30 which sleeve is placed over a cable 12, the cables 12, 14 are spliced, the spliced area 16 covered with mastic, the perforated material is wound over the mastic, the sleeve and core are moved over the splice area 16 and the core 30 is removed to shrink the sleeve onto the perforated material to adhere to the mastic.
