2098724 9308033 PCTABS00021 A floating cradle assembly (17) for an arm support system (10) is provided with a yoke (22) having cam surfaces (20, 21) and crank-controlled followers (23) arranged to ride along the cam surfaces (20, 21) as the cradle (17) moves vertically with respect to the yoke (22). As a result, the user of the arm support system (10) experiences a uniform upward biasing force, and the yoke (22) will not bind within the cradle housing (17). Different cam surface (20, 21) configurations will also result in different magnitudes of the uniform upward biasing force to accommodate the user's comfort.
