ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mechanical transmission arrangement is disclosed and includes a main shaft having its axis of rotation defining the z axis of a system of x, y and z axes disposed mutually at right angles. At least one primary eccentric is fixedly mounted on the main shaft and the rotational axis and the load axis of the or each respective primary eccentric are spaced apart by a distance (EHy/2) parallel to the z axis of the main shaft. A supporting tube is mounted on a bearing which in turn is mounted on the or each respective primary eccentric. At least one secondary eccentric is fixedly mounted upon a supporting tube and the or each respective secondary eccentric has its rotation and load axes located parallel to the z axis of the main shaft at a maximum spacing (2 x EHy/s) through the resultant mass centre (M3). A ring bearing is rotably mounted on the or each respective secondary eccentric with its rotation axis through the centre of mass (M3). The ring bearing is drivingly coupled to a load selected from the group consisting of (a) the combina- tion of at least one connecting rod and an actuating member associated therewith and (b) a counterweight corresponding to such combination (a), whereby the resultant overall centre of mass lies in the resultant mass centre (M3) and the latter mass centre (M3) is drivingly associated with counter weights carried by the supporting tube respectively to the left of and to the right of the main (x-y) balancing plane of the transmission arrangement and further a secondary resultant mass centre whereby (M2) is formed which, in operation, rotates with the main shaft on a circle of (EHy /2) around a mass centre (M1) which is opposed by primary balance masses (GM2/left and GM2/right) drivingly connected with the main shaft, so that the resultant mass centre (M1) is produced on the z axis of the main shaft and so that the transmission arrangement kin- etically simulates a hypocycloid gear by means of an effectively- loadable adjustment gear to cause the mass centre (M3) to move exactly on the y axis whilst the mass centres (GM2/1eft and GM2/right) move on the x axis.
