A crankshaft (220), and method for distributing lubricant along a crankshaft (220), are disclosed. The crankshaft (220) includes a crank pin (520), a crank arm (530), a main segment (510), and a flange (550). The crank arm (530) is coupled between the main segment (510) and the crank pin (520) and has an outer side (565). A channel (650) extends from within the crank pin (520) to the outer side (565). The flange (550) has outer (665) and inner edges (645), is positioned on the main segment (510) so that the outer edge (665) abuts the main segment(510), and is further positioned so the inner edge abuts the outer side of the crank arm (530). The flange (550) has first (630) and second grooves (640) along the outer (665) and inner edges (645) of the flange (550), respectively, and the grooves (630,640) form a passage extending from the channel (650) to an exterior portion of the main segment (510), so that lubricant can flow between the exterior portion of the main segment (510) and the channel (650) via the passage.
