A child's riding vehicle employing a unique and novel gear assembly and engagement structure includes a frame (12) having plural wheels, and a gear assembly (40) fixed on the frame which includes an output gear (54) non- rotatably connected to at least one of the vehicle's wheels. A motor (66) on the frame is mounted on an arm (68) which is movable between an engaged position (A) and a disengaged position (B), and a segment gear (62) mounted on the frame adjacent the gear assembly engages the motor's pinion (66a) and defines a path between the engaged and disengaged position. Unique and novel gear tooth profiles are employed in both the gear assembly and the engagement structure to prevent the same from jamming during transition between the engaged and disengaged positions and vice versa.

L'invention décrit un véhicule d'enfant à système d'engrenage et structure d'embrayage uniques et nouveaux. Ce véhicule est composé d'un châssis (12) à plusieurs roues et comprenant un système d'engrenage (40) fixé sur le châssis et comprenant un pignon secondaire (54) relié de façon non rotative à au moins une des roues du véhicule. Un moteur (66) placé sur le châssis est monté sur un bras (68) pouvant se déplacer entre une position d'embrayage (A) et une position de débrayage (B), tandis qu'un engrenage à segment (62) monté sur le châssis adjacent au système d'engrenage assure l'embrayage du pignon du moteur (66a) et définit un trajet entre la position de débrayage. Aussi bien dans le système d'engrenage que dans la structure d'embrayage, on utilise des profils de dents d'engrenage uniques et nouveaux qui permettent d'éviter tout grippage lors du passage de la position d'embrayage à la position de débrayage, et vice versa.
