ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A crawler track element has a running pad which is secured in a recess in its ground-engaging surface, by anchoring means on the pad engaging with the body of the track element. The anchoring means is releasable by a tool adapted to release the pad from the accessible side of the track assembly. Adjacent track elements are connected together by outer and inner connectors, the inner connectors having an enlarged portion providing a bearing area for drive and/or support wheels of the crawler track assembly.
