A method of creasing plastics sheet material which comprises providing a mould having the desired shape, heating the mould, and bringing the mould into contact with the sheet material under pressure. The mould has the desired shape of the end product, for example a box blank, and may contain both cutting and creasing rules as well as other product features as desired. A single mould may be used in conjunction with a flat plate or a complementary double mould system may be used, especially for thicker materials or where a central hinge effect is required. By this means, the creasing is obtained by heat deformation (rather than simple pressure of a creasing rule) and sealing of the sheet material takes place at the same time thereby destroying elastic memory and ensuring that the dimensions of the creased area remain constant after creasing.
Procédé de pliage de matériau plastique en feuille qui consiste à prendre un moule ayant la forme désirée, à chauffer le moule et à le mettre en contact avec le matériau en feuille sous pression. Ledit moule possède la forme désirée du produit fini, par exemple, une ébauche de boîte, et peut contenir à la fois des réglettes de pliage et de coupe, ainsi que d'autres caractéristiques si désiré. Il est possible d'utiliser un seul moule en conjonction avec une plaque plate ou un système de moule double complémentaire, en particulier pour des matériaux plus épais ou nécessitant un effet de charnière centrale. De cette manière, on obtient le pliage par déformation thermique (plutôt que par simple pression d'une réglette de pliage) et le soudage du matériau en feuille a lieu en même temps, ce qui détruit ainsi la mémoire élastique et garantit que les dimensions de la zone pliée restent constantes après le pliage.
