A portable creep feeder is based on a trailer carrying a feed container with feed trough on its opposite sides. A fence is mounted on each side of the trailer to control access to the feed trough. The fence has openings of limited size to limit access to animals of below a specific size. The openings may preferably be adjustable in size. The two fences are pivotally mounted on longitudinal pivot axes so that they can be pivoted upwardly from their normal positions extending out from the respective sides of the trailer totransport positions in which the two fences project upwardly from the trailer. A hand-operated winch and a cable is used to move the fences between their feed and transport positions.
