ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A water bed structure comprises an elongate platform including a flat horizontal panel, a weir about the perimeter of and projecting upwardly from the panel and vertically extending support structure below the platform engaging a supporting floor spaced below the platform. A flexible flotation matress in supported engagement atop the panel and within the weir, is provided with the weir including an inner wall structure defining a liquid conducting passage about the perimeter of the platform. A plurality of liquid conducting ports in the wall structure communicating with the passage and the space defined inward of the weir are provided and are arranged within the mattress such that water in the space flows through the ports and into the passage. A drain to drain water from the passage and including an opening in the platform communicating with the passage is provided as well as a liquid conducting conduit with an inlet communicating with the opening and an outlet communicating with a water receptacle below the platform. Previous structures have not been suitable for use of water bed mattresses.
