The invention relates to a crop lifter for reaping systems of harvesting machines, which have a bed plate with projectingly attached reaping fingers. It comprises a support bar with a first end and a second end. The first end serves for the attachment on the bed plate. To the second end of the support bar, a grain lifter is connected. A holder is attached between the first end and the second end on the support bar. Retaining means are arranged on the holder, which are spaced from the support bar. The holder together with the retaining means are arranged in such a way, that a gap of free motion is formed, so that the support bar can approach the reaping finger or its tip. The support bar is formed rigidly concerning flexure in the area between the second end and the holder and is formed elastically concerning flexure in the area between the holder and the first end.
