Abstract of the Disclosure Multiple embodiments of a cross country ski binding are provided. In each of the embodiments a support element is provided which has a rear part clampingly engageable with a forward extension of a ski boot sole and a front part which is fixedly attachable to a ski. In order to accommodate angular movement between the front and rear parts, a connection part is provided which permits such angular movement about an axis extending transversely of the longitudinal extent of the ski when the binding is in an in-use position, In many of the preferred embodiments, the cross axis is formed by hinge pin connections between the front and rear parts. In other embodiments, the hinge axis is effectively formed by portions of the leaf spring or a mulitplicity of leaf springs inter- connecting the front and rear parts. Preferred embodiments also include resilient members such as springs, rubber cushions, and the like, interposed between the front and rear parts to continuously resiliently bias the same in the direction corresponding to a flat position of the ski boot on the ski.
