ABSTRACT A cross-linkable composition for use as caulk, extruding composition, molding composition, coating composition or the like, comprising: a non-Newtonian colloidal disperse system characterized by a neutralization base number of about 3 or less, said system comprising solid metal containing colloidal particles predispersed in a liquid dispersing medium, and as a third component, at least one organic compound which is soluble in said dispersing medium, the molecules of said organic compound being characterized by a hydrophobic portion and at least one polar substituent; and at least one cross-linkable material other than an isocyanate; and, optionally at least one cross-linking agent. The compositions can be formulated to high solids content with correspondingly low content of organic solvents, with acceptable viscosities.
