A sterile powder comprising microparticles, 0.1 to 50 µm in diameter, obtainable by spray-drying and cross-linking a water-soluble material having free functional groups, is characterised in that the microparticles are hydrophilic, can be reconstituted in water to give a monodisperse suspension, and have retained said groups available for derivatisation. The particles are linked to drugs or other functional molecules, and used as vehicles in therapy.

La présente invention concerne une poudre stérile, composée de microparticules dont le diamètre varie entre 0,1 et 50 mu m, que l'on peut obtenir par séchage par atomisation et par réticulation croisée d'une matière soluble dans l'eau pourvue de groupements fonctionnels libres. Cette poudre se caractérise en ce que les microparticules sont hydrophiles, en ce qu'elles peuvent être reconstituées dans l'eau pour former une suspension monodispersée, et en ce qu'elles conservent lesdits groupements disponibles pour former des dérivés. Ces particules sont liées à des médicaments ou à d'autres molécules fonctionnelles et utilisées comme véhicules thérapeutiques.
