A crossing tongue with a crossing nose made of cast black manganese steel Abstract: In a crossing tongue (1) with a crossing nose (2) made of black manganese steel, in which a portion of the trailing rails (3) has been cast onto the crossing nose (2) in the overlap area, the cast part has laterally running stays (9) in the areas of the ties, whereby stays (9) are supported directly against the ties or the tie plates and that the cast part is supported against the ties solely by the stays (9), whereby, because of the high stability and small dimensions of the crossing tongue, a high degree of precision of the position of the running edge and the crossing nose (2) can be achieved without complicated fitting operations (Fig.2).
