The invention concerns novel ion-exchanging membranes, the method for preparing them and their uses. The membranes are made up of a polymer obtained from a monomer or a bifunctional mixture of monomers of general formula [T-SO¿2?-Y-SO¿2?T']?-¿ M-?+¿. Moreover said polymers are useful in electrochemical cells, in a chlorine-sodium electrolysis process, as separator in an electrochemical preparation of organic and inorganic compounds, as separator between an aqueous phase and an organic phase, or as catalyst for Diels-Alder additions, Friedel-Craft reactions, aldol condensations, cationic polymerisation, and acetal formation.

La présente invention concerne de nouvelles membranes échangeuses d'ions, leur méthode de préparation et leurs utilisations. Les membranes sont faites d'un polymère obtenu à partir d'un monomère ou d'un mélange de monomères bifonctionnel de formule générale [T-SO2-Y-SO2T']- M+. Les polymères sont en outre utiles dans les piles électrochimiques, dans un procédé d'électrolyse chlore-soude, comme séparateur dans une préparation électrochimique de composés organiques et inorganiques, comme séparateur entre une phase aqueuse et une phase organique, ou comme catalyseur pour les additions Diels- Alder, les réactions Friedel-Craft, les condensations aldol, la polymérisation cationique, les estérifications, et la formation d'acétals.
