Z/PV 35128Z ABSTRACT CROSSLINKABLE COATING COMPOSITION A room temperature or thermosetting crosslinkable coating composition comprising an aqueous emulsion of a binder, the binder comprising either a) an addition polymer having carboxyl, hydroxyl, or amide functionality crosslinker but having no amine functionality together with a glycoluril crosslinker, the composition also comprising a cation-free opacifying pigment, or b) an addition polymer having beta-hydroxy-ester functionality the polmer being self-crosslinkable, in either case the composition having substantially no cations and a pH of less than 2.5 as result of the treatment of either the composition or its components with an ion exchange resin.
