The present invention provides crosslinkable compositions which include a polymer having at least two sulfur and/or phosphorus-containing acid groups and an aliphatic polycarbodiimide crosslinker. The compositions are useful for coating materials such as paints, lacquers and varnishes, and as sealants, nonwoven fabric binders, leather coatings, and adhesives.
