Crosslinkable polyamides polyamide-amic acids, polyamic acids and the derivatives which are cyclised to the corresponding polyamide-imide or polyimide Abstract of the Disclosure Polyamides, polyamide-amic acids or polyamic acids containing the recurring structural unit of formula I Image (I) and the derivatives which are cyclised to the corresponding polyamide-imide or poly- imide, wherein X and Y are each independently of the other -H or -COOH, R and R1 are each an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, or aromatic radical, such that at least 1 mol% of the radicals R1 is a radical of formula Ia Image (Ia) and containing reactive end groups of formulae III, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X or XI Image (III), Image (V), Image (VI), Image (VII), Image (VIII), Image (IX), Image (X) or Image (XI) wherein Z is X or Y, R and R1 are as defined in formula I and m is 1 or 2, R2 is C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, or phenyl or naphthyl, each unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxy or halogen, and n is 0 or 1 or 2, A is a radical selected from the group consisting of -CH2-, -?H-CH3, -S-, -O- and -SO2-, E is allyl or methallyl, o is 0 or 1, and p and q are each 1 or 2, have particularly high thermal resistance after curing and are especially suitable for the fabrication of fibrous composite systems.
