The invention relates to the field of biological chemistry, and to polysaccharides in particular. Specifically, it concerns biological products obtained as a result of the polymerization and crosslinking in an alkaline medium of a gel, comprised of wheat or spelt wheat flour, in the presence of a dual-function crosslinking reagent. The invention further relates to a process for obtaining said biological products, consisting in forming an aqueous dispersion of flour, rendering this dispersion alkaline by adding an alkaline metal hydroxide, performing polymerization and crosslinking in the presence of a dual-function crosslinking reagent, and drying the resultant gel to obtain a vitreous, lightly colored product with a solid substance content of between 75 % and 85 % which is then ground into hard particles of a predetermined size. The application of the invention is abrasive particles.
La présente invention se rapporte au domaine de la chimie biologique et plus particulièrement à celui des polysaccharides. Elle a plus précisément pour objet des produits biologiques résultant de la polymérisation et de la réticulation en milieu alcalin d'un gel élaboré à partir de farine de blé ou d'épeautre en présence d'un réactif de réticulation bifonctionnel. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de production des produits biologiques précités qui consiste à former une dispersion aqueuse de farine, à rendre alcaline cette dispersion en ajoutant un hydroxyde de métal alcalin, à effectuer la polymérisation et la réticulation en présence d'un réactif de réticulation bifonctionnel, puis à sécher le gel en résultant pour obtenir un produit vitreux légèrement coloré présentant une teneur en matière solide comprise entre 75 et 85 % que l'on broie en particules dures de granulométrie déterminée. Utilisation comme particules abrasives.
