Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to crosslinked organopoly- siloxanes having liquid-crystalline properties in which mesogenic molecules are chemically bonded to the organopolysiloxane lattices. These crosslinked organopolysiloxanes are prepared from silanes or siloxanes containing mesogenic molecules which are capable of being crosslinked by addition or condensation reactions.
