A multilayer PEX pipe having improved resistance to oxidizing agents in water. The pipe has a thin tubular core (inner layer) of high density polyethylene and an outer layer of crosslinked polyethylene. The pipe may optionally have an oxygen barrier layer, such as polyethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) ("EVOH"), contiguously disposed radially outward from the PEX layer. The pipe is suitable for potable water applications and for hot water radiant heating systems.

L'invention concerne un tube PEX multicouche présentant une résistance améliorée aux agents oxydants dans l'eau. Le tube présente une âme tubulaire mince (couche intérieure) en polyéthylène haute densité et une couche extérieure en polyéthylène réticulé. Le tube peut comporter facultativement une couche formant barrière à l'oxygène, telle que du poly(éthylène-co-alcool de vinyl) ("EVOH"), disposée contiguë radialement à l'extérieur de la couche PEX. Le tube est approprié à des applications d'eau potable et dans des systèmes de chauffage par rayonnement à eau chaude.
