The structure has a panel provided with a number of openings arranged in parallel rows and columns. Each opening may be opened and closed by a flap. A corner of each flap is removed so that a part of each opening remains open when the flap is closed. A completed crossword puzzle is held stationary beneath the upper panel. Each square of the puzzle displays either a letter or a blank. The square also displays in one of its corners an indication of what the remainder of the square displays whether a letter or a blank. Each square is visible through a respective opening when the flap which is closed by the opening is open and when the flap is closed the letter or blank within the square is hidden but the indication within the square is visible through the open part of the opening.

Structure possédant un panneau muni de nombreuses ouvertures disposées en rangées et en colonnes parallèles. Chaque ouverture peut être ouverte ou fermée au moyen d'un volet. Un coin de chaque volet est découvert afin qu'une partie de chacune des ouvertures demeure ouverte lorsque le volet est fermé. Un jeu de mots croisés terminé est maintenu en place sous le panneau supérieur. Chaque carré du jeu affiche soit une lettre soit un blanc. De plus, dans un des coins du carré, il est indiqué si le reste du carré affiche une lettre ou un blanc. Chaque carré est visible par une ouverture respective lorsque le volet qui ferme l'ouverture est ouvert. Lorsque le volet est fermé, la lettre ou le blanc dans le carré est caché mais l'indication dans le carré est visible par la partie découverte de l'ouverture.
