-22- ABSTRACT This invention relates to methods for inhibiting fouling of heat exchanger surfaces in crude oil processing systems. The methods comprise adding an effective amount of an aminoalkyl piperazine compound to the crude oil being processed. Preferably, the aminoalkyl piperazine compound is l-(2-aminoethyl) piperazine.
