CRUSTACEAN POT LINE COILER Abstract A crustacean pot line coiler is disclosed that draws line from the primary huller block and utilizes the natural coiling tendency of twist-type synthetic pot lines to effect coiling of the line by feeding it downwardly into a receiving tub from a central elevated position. The line is thrust fed into the tub through the nip of opposing drive rollers, one of which is power driven and provided with a pneumatic tire to grip the line tractionally while allowing knots to pass at the high having velocity required without imposing undue mechanical shock on the system. The other drive roller has a reentrant groove accommodating the line and also the power driven roller. Retractably mounted, the latter roller is yieldability pressed by a return spring against the power driven roller in a generally horizontal direction. A guide sheave overlying the nip of the drive rollers leads the line downwardly into the latter from a sufficient height above them as to form a laterally deflectable stretch of the line adjacent the drive roller nip. This contributes to the effectiveness of the pneumatically inflated drive roller tire and the horizontal yieldability of the opposing drive roller to pass knots with minimum shock to the system and minimum line dislodgement tendencies.
