A method for cryopreserving plant callus without the use of cryoprotectants or programmable freezers. The callus is spread on a physical support, grown on a media supplemented with an osmoticum, desiccated under controlled conditions, placed directly into cold storage, and can be revived by thawing. Actively growing callus from a number of species can be cryopreserved using the instant invention.

Procédé de cryoconservation d'un cal de plante sans utilisation de cryoprotecteurs ou de congélateurs programmables. Les cals sont étendus sur un support physique, cultivés sur un milieu enrichi avec un osmoticum, desséchés dans des conditions surveillées, placés directement dans un lieu d'entreposage froid. Ils peuvent être réactivé par décongélation. ce procédé permet de cryoconserver les cals à croissance active de différentes espèces.
