The invention relates to a crystalline, enantiomerically pure hydrochloride salt of N-(5-{2-[3-(4,4-diethyl-2--oxo-4H-benzo[d][1,3]oxazin-1-yl)-1,1-dimethyl- propylamino]-1-hydroxy-ethyl}-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-methane sulfonamide, pre-ferably N-(5-{(R)-2-[3-(4,4-diethyl-2-oxo-4H-benzo[d][1,3]oxazin-1-yl)-1,1-dimethyl- propylamino]-1-hydroxy- ethyl}-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-methane sulfonamide, and the effect thereof as a long-term betamimetic agent, alone or combined with at least one other active ingredient, in the treatment of respiratory diseases.
