Form I of azelastine of formula (I), its preparation process which comprises the following steps: a) crystallizing azelastine from a solution of said compound in isobutylmethylketone; b) isolating the Form I of azelastine that appears in the prior step; and c) removing the organic solvent from the Form I of azelastine thus obtained, and its use as antihistamine.

L'invention porte sur la Forme I de l'azélastine de formule (I), sur son procédé de préparation qui comprend les étapes suivantes consistant à : a) faire cristalliser de l'azélastine à partir d'une solution dudit composé dans de l'isobutylméthylcétone ; b) isoler la Forme I de l'azélastine qui apparaît dans l'étape antérieure ; et c) éliminer le solvant organique à partir de la Forme I de l'azélastine ainsi obtenue. L'invention porte également sur l'utilisation de cette Forme I de l'azélastine comme antihistaminique.
