A catalyst component, a catalyst, and a process for making the component and catalyst are disclosed herein. Also disclosed herein is a fluid catalytic cracking process for converting petroleum feedstocks to lower boiling products wherein the feedstock is contacted with the catalyst. The catalyst component is a crystalline microporous oxide catalyst to which a compound for promoting dehydrogenation and increasing Lewis acidity is effectively added. This catalyst component can be included in an inorganic oxide matrix material and used as a catalyst. Preferably, the compound for promoting dehydrogenation and increasing Lewis acidity is effectively added to a non-framework portion of the crystalline microporous oxide.

L'invention concerne un composant de catalyseur, un catalyseur, ainsi qu'un procédé de préparation de ce composant et de ce catalyseur. L'invention concerne également un procédé de craquage catalytique de fluide destiné à convertir des charges de pétrole en produits à point de distillation plus bas, ce procédé consistant à mettre en contact la charge avec le catalyseur. Le composant est un catalyseur à base d'oxyde microporeux cristallin, auquel a été efficacement ajouté un composé favorisant la déshydrogénation et augmentant l'acidité de Lewis. Il est possible d'incorporer ce composant de catalyseur dans un matériau matriciel à base d'oxyde minéral et de l'utiliser en tant que catalyseur. De préférence, le composé favorisant la déshydrogénation et augmentant l'acidité de Lewis est efficacement ajouté à une portion non structurelle de l'oxyde microporeux cristallin.
