Dodecyl 2-(N,N-dimethylamino)-propionate (DDAIP), having the following chemical structure: (see above formula) is prepared by transesterification of ethyl 2-(N,N- dimethylamino)-propionate. Crystalline acid addition salts of DDAIP are prepared by cooled mixing DDAIP with one of a select group of acids in the presence of a water-immiscible solvent such as hexane. The resulting DDAIP salts are crystalline, and exhibit a pattern of defined detection peaks upon analysis by powder x-ray diffraction. DDAIP is useful as a skin penetration enhancer.
On prépare du 2-(N,N- diméthylamino)propionate de dodécyle (DDAIP), ayant la structure chimique suivante (voie la formule ci-haut), par transestérification du 2-(N,N- diméthylamino)propionate d'éthyle. Des sels d'addition acide cristallins de DDAIP sont préparés par mélange à l'état refroidi de DDAIP avec un acide faisant partie d'un groupe d'acides sélectionnés, en présence d'un solvant non miscible à l'eau tel que l'hexane. Les sels DDAIP ainsi obtenus sont cristallins et présentent un spectre de pics de détection définis lors d'une analyse par diffraction X sur poudre. Le DDAIP est utile en tant qu'agent améliorant la pénétration cutanée.
