A method for recovering crystalline 2-6-dimethylnaphthalene comprising crystallizing in a scraped-wall crystallizer apparatus at crystallization temperature T, a mixture of low melting components (LM), having melting points of 70 ·F and below, and high melting components (HM), including 2,6- dimethylnaphthalene, having melting points above 70 ·F, such that: HM/LM < 0.03(T-50) + A, where HM is the total weight percent of high melting components, including 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene, in the mixture, an LM is the total weight percent of low melting components in the mixture, and where T is the temperature of the crystallization in degrees Fahrenheit, and where A is at least 1Ø

Un procédé pour récupérer du 2,6-diméthylnaphtalène cristallin consiste à cristalliser, dans un cristalliseur à raclage à une température de cristallisation T, un mélange de constituants à bas point de fusion (LM) présentant des points de fusion de 70 ~F maximum, et de constituants à haut point de fusion (HM), notamment du 2,6-diméthylnaphtalène, présentant des points de fusion supérieurs à 70 ~F, de telle manière que: HM/LM < 0.03(T-50) + A, où HM est le pourcentage total en poids de constituants à haut point de fusion, notamment du 2,6-diméthylnaphtalène, dans le mélange, et LM est le pourcentage total en poids de constituants à bas point de fusion dans le mélange, et où T est la température de cristallisation en degrés Fahrenheit, et A est égal à au moins 1,0.
