A method of manufacturing a powdered composition or starting material used in producing a CBN compact which comprises CBN, a secondary hard phase and a binder phase includes two steps of attrition milling. First, the attrition milling of the secondary hard phase and the binder phase. Second, adding CBN particles to the fine particle mixture of the first attrition milling and then attrition milling this mixture.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une composition pulvérulente ou d'une matière première utilisée dans la production d'un comprimé de nitrure de bore cubique comprenant du nitrure de bore cubique, une phase dure secondaire et une phase liant. Le procédé comporte deux étapes de broyage par attrition: la première consiste à broyer la phase dure secondaire et la phase liant; la seconde consiste à ajouter les particules de nitrure de bore cubique au mélange de particules fines du premier broyage par attrition, puis à broyer par attrition le mélange obtenu.
