The present invention provides for a culvert end, wherein the culvert end is structurally weakened to allow partial collapse of an upper section of the end on impact loading. The culvert end aims to decrease the severity of motor vehicle accidents wherein the culvert has an end that is deformable under impact to create a transitioning surface to reduce the likelihood of the vehicle arresting, catching or snagging itself in the entrance to the culvert.
