ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A culvert end guard for preventing the clogging of a culvert pipe by beavers includes a skeletal frame for mounting on the open end of the culvert; a gate defined by a plurality of parallel crossbars normally resting on the open, inclined outer end of the frame and a first chain interconnecting the crossbars and pivotal connecting the gate to the frame; and a second chain connected to the first chain for rotating the gate to the open position. In use, the gate catches debris while permitting the passage of water. Periodically, the gate is moved to the open position by pulling on the second chain either manually or by attaching it to a vehicle, with the effect of removing debris. The gate is again closed for re-use.
