A curable composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a polysulfide polymer exhibiting a viscosity of 0.5 to 50Pa~s at 25~C, 1 to 20 parts by weight of an organic peroxide, and 0.0005 to 10 parts by weight of a redox initiator containing at least one metal selected from among copper, iron, lead, potassium, manganese, indium, nickel and cobalt. The curable composition has excellent curing characteristics and products of curing of the composition are so excellent in water resistance as not to cause swelling or strength reduction even when immersed in warm water for a long period. The composition is favorably usable as the sealant for double-glazing units, aircrafts, civil engineering works or constructions.
L'invention concerne une composition durcissable comprenant 100 parties en poids d'un polymère polysulfure présentant une viscosité comprise entre 0,5 et 50 Pa.s à 25 °C, 1 à 20 parties en poids d'un peroxyde organique, et 0,0005 à 10 parties en poids d'un amorceur rédox contenant au moins un métal choisi parmi le cuivre, le fer, le plomb, le potassium, le manganèse, l'indium, le nickel, et le cobalt. Cette composition durcissable présente d'excellentes propriétés de durcissement et les produits issus du durcissement de cette composition présentent une excellente résistance à l'eau telle que même une immersion de longue durée dans de l'eau chaude ne provoque pas de gonflement ou de perte de résistance. Cette composition peut avantageusement être utilisée en tant que matériau d'étanchéité pour des doubles vitrages, des aéronefs, des constructions ou des ouvrages de génie civil.
