A composition capable of curing to form an elastomeric mass is disclosed which comprises a polymeric material having at least one hydroxyl or hydrolyzable group bonded to silicon, a crosslinking agent of the formula R-Si-(OR1)3 wherein R denotes an alkyl group having from 4 to 8 carbon atoms and each R1 independently denotes an alkyl or acyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms and a catalyst compound comprising a titanium compound. A method of using the composition as a sealing material is also disclosed.
