ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a curable composition consisting essentially of (a) from about 10 to about 32 percent by weight of a water-soluble and/or water dispersible alkali metal silicate: and (b) from about 2 to about 10 percent by weight of a metal condensed phosphate hardener in the form of an aqueous dispersion containing a water-soluble base in an amount such that the pH of the aqueous dispersion of the hardener is greater than 9.5. Also disclosed is a method of preparing such a curable composition.
