The present invention is a visible marker for attaching to the top of a curb stop cover for a water shut off valve supplying water service to a dwelling or building. The curb stop marker consists of a vertical sleeve that sits on top of the curb stop cover that is secured to the curb stop cover by a vertical rod disposed within the sleeve having a lower end adapted to couple to a curb stop cover, said rod having a sleeve retainer adapted to secure the sleeve to the curb stop cover once the rod has been fully threaded into the curb stop cover.
