Products of the reaction of (a) polyisocyanate, (b) a CH-acidic alkyl ester, (c) a polyoxyalkyleneamine and (d) if appropriate a further NH- and/or OH-reactive compound are disclosed. The products are useful as a curing component for synthetic resins (binders) which contain groups capable of amide and/or ester formation. Mixtures of the products of the invention and binders where appropriate with diluents and additives, have a long shelf life, even in aqueous systems, and are particularly suitable for aqueous paint formulations.
