The enveloping body is also provided with a slit for the hair curl which leads from the interspace to the outside. In order to enable the hair to be rolled up as close to the scalp as possible after being initially wrapped upon the roller by hand, and end of the roller is provided with a handle by which the roller can be turned further prior to tightly sealing the curler. In accordance with the preferred embodiment, the handle is of a blade-like shape and is formed on a sealing cap on one end of the roller.
