A curling slider which may be a shoe or an attachment for a shoe includes a flexible sole located under the foot of the curler attached to which is a slider plate having a slider bottom surface designed to slide across the ice. In front of the slider plate is a toe portion and behind is a heel portion each of which is formed of slider material. The slider plate is circular in plan and is received in a receptacle defined by arcuate edges of the toe and heel portions. The slider plate is attached to the sole member by a releasable connection such as hook and loop such that the slider bottom surface can be rotated relative to the sole member about an axis generally at a right angle to the bottom surface so as to adjust the orientation of the slider bottom surface relative to the longitudinal axis of the sole. The slider plate can include one or more grooves defined between separate steel pads which form a steering direction of the plate which is thus adjusted by the rotation.
