- 17 - CURLING SLIDER CONSTRUCTION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conventional curling sliders often include trays- verse bars, or permanently situated slider strips adhesive- ly secured to the shoe sole or to a slider plate which in turn is secured to the sole. When sliding, the instep area of the shoe bends severely and the strips or bars therefore reduce the flexibility of the instep area making the bending action stiff and somewhat inflexible as well as causing problems of adhesion to the strips or bars. In the present invention, a plurality of relatively hard plas- tic buttons are provided which may be adhesively secured by the wearer, where desired and in a variety of shapes and patterns. The junction between the ice engaging surface and the walls of the buttons provides a smooth transition area thus preventing any scratching and scoring of the ice surface.
