The present invention provides an electrical device for sensing both AC and DC current which is flowing through an electrical circuit regardless of operating frequency in the circuit. The electrical device includes conductive means for bifurcating the current into separate paths of fixed relationship to one another, wherein impedances of each path operate in a constant relationship to each other. In further embodiments of the invention, the electrical device includes current sensing means for measuring an output signal of the current flowing through the circuit, which is of a type which does not introduce an insertion loss into the circuit.

La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif électrique destiné à détecter un courant alternatif et continu qui passe dans un circuit électrique, quelle que soit la fréquence de service du circuit. Ce dispositif électrique comprend un élément conducteur servant à faire bifurquer le courant dans des voies séparées ayant une relation fixe l'une par rapport à l'autre, les impédances de chaque voie étant en relation constante l'une par rapport à l'autre. Selon d'autres réalisations de l'invention, le dispositif électrique comprend un détecteur de courant servant à mesurer un signal de sortie du courant passant dans le circuit, ce signal ne présentant pas de perte d'insertion dans le circuit.
